'The army is trying to silence whistle-blowers' - Open Secrets

CAPE TOWN - Social justice organisation, Open Secrets, says the South African National Defence Force is trying to silence whistle-blowers.

This follows after the SANDF denied the existence of a torture squad in the military.

The SANDF refuted these allegation after Open Secrets director, Hennie van Vuuren claimed to have extraordinary evidence of torture and murder by units of the SANDF.

The military's chief Rudzani Maphwanya briefed the media this morning, and Open Secret's Van Vuuren spoke to the eNCA in reaction to Chief Maphwanya's statement.
