Brain-related conditions cost world trillions

JOHANNESBURG - Brain-related conditions are costing the world at least R15 trillion annually.

And Africa has not been spared.

Global leaders in science, business, and policy gathered this week to discuss how investing in brain health can fuel economic growth and strengthen workforces.

Through its new five-year Africa Brain Health plan, policymakers aim to curb the exorbitant amounts of money lost annually to brain disorders across the continent.
