City of Cape Town slams SAPOA's urgent tariff court bid

CAPE TOWN - The South African Property Owners Association is challenging the city’s newly introduced fixed charges for water, cleaning and sanitation, which are linked to property value.

It is asking the Western Cape Division of the High Court to suspend the order for two months and give the city a chance to rectify the tariffs.

Cape Town Mayor, Geordin Hill-Lewis says they have a strong case to make and this is the only equitable way to do it.
