CAPE TOWN - Cape Flats anti-crime groups are accusing Western Cape Premier Alan Winde of politicising crime by stalling the release of the provincial ombudsman’s findings.
The inquiry began in 2022, when Western Cape High Court Judge Daniel Thulare said there was evidence indicating that the 28's gang had penetrated the very top police ranks.

Meanwhile, provincial police are reporting some progress, citing the arrest of 700 gang members and the seizure of 1,500 firearms over the past seven months.
