DA petitions Eskom system operator

JOHANNESBURG - The DA has petitioned the Eskom system operator over what it says appears to be a “growing tendency by Eskom to issue misleading rolling blackout advice”.

The Eskom System Operator is the body responsible for the national code of practice for power cuts.

In a statement, the DA says industry experts were of the view that, over the course of the past weekend, some parts of the country experienced 12 hours of darkness per day.
It says according to the ESO specifications, this is consistent with stage 8 blackouts load-shedding, yet Eskom insisted that they were load-shedding at Stage 6.
