CAPE TOWN - The Cape of Good Hope SPCA has called on dog owners to take better care of their animals.
Breeding laws dictate all dogs and cats over six months must be sterilised unless the owner obtains a permit from the city to keep the animal unsterilised.

Female dogs usually reach sexual maturity around six months of age.
The SPCA says last month it discovered 41 puppies at two properties in Cape Town.
They say if not discovered, the little dogs would have continued suffering.
