Discussion | Creators of child abuse content to be exposed

JOHANNESBURG - WhatsApp and Instagram have been forced to shut down over 60 child sex abuse channels on their platforms.

Their parent company, Meta, has also been ordered to hand over the identities of the creators behind the channels.

The Digital Law Company brought the urgent court action after it learnt of plans to flood the channels with even more explicit content.

Dr Craig Pederson from TCG Digital Forensics discusses the legal and digital implications of this ruling.
