PORT SHEPSTONE - The KZN health department is investigating the death of an intern doctor who died while on duty at the Prince Mshiyeni Memorial Hospital in uMlazi earlier this week.
It’s alleged Dr Alulutho Mazwi messaged his kine manager on Monday, saying he wasn't feeling well but was told “I expect you to be on duty.”
While at work, he collapsed and died. His death has sparked outrage and concern about how junior doctors are treated.
According to Dr Zanele Bikitsha of the South African Medical Association, they must address this issue since it is wrong to treat a person in this manner.
