Speaking at a media briefing in Durban, Mkhwanazi revealed that over 120 case dockets related to political killings were allegedly removed from a provincial task team  reportedly under instruction from senior national police officials, who he claims were acting on the direction of the Police Minister.

He further alleged that the dockets are now lying untouched at police head office, raising serious concerns about obstruction and accountability in politically linked crimes.

Mkhwanazi’s revelations are expected to have serious implications for the Police Ministry and South Africa’s broader fight against crime.
