JOHANNESBURG - The Competition Commission has been peeling back the layers of the fresh produce trade.
It's found the Fresh Produce Market is operating as oligopoly and is ripe for reform.
The Commission says it’s time to squash the barriers and let small greengrocers take root.
It's made 31 recommendations to end the anti-competitive practices that are driving prices up.
