JOHANNESBURG - Higher Education Minister Nobuhle Nkabane's independent panel may not have been so independent.
The minister insisted that the panel to appoint boards of SETAs were impartial.
But, now that the panel's names have been released, it's clear it was an internal panel and not independent.
The supposed chair of the panel was said to be prominent Advocate Terry Motau, SC.
But he never attended any meetings and says he was never part of the process.
In fact, he only heard of the names selected through media reports.
Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Higher Education, Tebogo Letsie, has more on this.
