JOHANNESBURG - December 2027 will see a change to the ANC's leadership.
The party's next elective conference will see the party's next president take the reigns from Cyril Ramaphosa.
In pole position is the ANC's Deputy President, Paul Mashatile.
But questions remain about what this will mean for the GNU and if Mashatile's path to victory is assured.
According to the Brenthurst Foundation, "it will determine that whether we take or we continue the direction that we are trying to take now which it is foremost to sort out the economy and stabilise the finances or go for the hyperinflation, to be populist about immigrants."
