JOHANNESBURG - The Madlanga Commission will begin public hearings on 17 September.
KZN Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi is the first witness.
It's probing his claims of political interference in police work.
The hearings kick off after being delayed due to procurement issues.
The commission says it will prioritise the protection of witnesses.
