PRETORIA - Public Interest SA has submitted a petition to Parliament opposing Communications Minister Solly Malatsi's proposal that would effectively exempt Starlink from South Africa's BEE requirements.

Malatsi has gazetted new policy diectives for the ICT sector that critics say are designed to accommodate Elon Musk's internet service.
Public Interest SA is opposed to the move describing it as flawed and legally questionable.
