JOHANNESBURG - Teachers should not be burdened with the responsibility to address teenage pregnancies and social ills.

Their primary role is delivering the curriculum to pupils.

This is the view of National Association of School Governing Bodies general secretary Matakanye Matakanya.

He also emphasises the need for alignment between school policies and the Constitution.

Matakanya spoke to eNCA anchor Jenna-Leigh Bilong about rising teenage pregnancy rates and the importance of maintaining labour peace to avoid disruptions in the new school year.
