JOHANNESBURG - The brutal murder of Olorato Mongale, a postgraduate student at Wits University has once again cast a harsh spotlight on the scourge of gender-based violence reigniting national outrage and grief.

Mongale was last seen on Sunday in the company of a man she had recently met.

Tragically, her lifeless body was later discovered in Lombardy West.  

Her death is yet another grim reminder of the ongoing crisis of gender-based violence and femicide that continues to plague our country.
