PRETORIA - South Africa has suspended the trade of live poultry, eggs, and fresh poultry meat from Brazil.
This follows an avian flu outbreak at a farm in Montenegro, affecting 17,000 birds.

The South African agriculture department announced it will not issue new import permits for these products.
However, the import of products packaged before 30 April 2025 and heat-processed poultry continues.
