JOHANNESBURG - A commission of inquiry has been established to probe serious allegations made by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.
Acting Deputy Chief Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga will chair the commission.
It's been tasked to investigate allegations relating to the infiltration of criminal syndicates into law enforcement, intelligence and associated institutions within the criminal justice system.
Political analyst Professor Zwelethu Jolobe said the president's tone was firm and clear.
"He gave the right urgency of the situation," Jolobe said.
