JOHANNESBURG - The Treasury's deal with US software giant Oracle to update the government's supply chain and human resources systems has been deemed improper by the Special Investigating Unit.

The tech company was given a contract by the National Treasury in 2015 to modernise the government's Integrated Financial Management System.

This was revealed at a briefing to Parliament earlier this week.
