JOHANNESBURG - Trump has repeated his threat of 100% tariffs for BRICS nations if they come up with their own currency to replace the US dollar.
He warns the US wants a commitment from what he calls "seemingly hostile countries" that they will neither create a new BRICS Currency, nor back any other Currency to replace the U.S. Dollar or, they will face 100% Tariffs.

At the time, Russia said that any U.S. attempt to compel countries to use the dollar would backfire but now the Kremlin says there is no talk about a BRICS currency - only about creating joint investment.
