JOHANNESBURG - There are growing calls for graphic health warnings to be added to tobacco packaging in South Africa.

Health experts say the country is facing a serious smoking-related health crisis and that without stronger regulations, it will only get worse.

One of the leading voices is Professor Lekan Ayo-Yusuf, who spoke to eNCA. He’s urging Parliament to urgently pass the Tobacco Products and Electronic Delivery Systems Control Bill.

The bill would introduce tighter controls on both traditional tobacco and e-cigarette products.
