JOHANNESBURG - Three people were killed and three others remain hospitalised after a house collapsed in Doornkop, south of Johannesburg last Sunday.

Emergency services say the structure was occupied at the time, raising questions about land use, safety compliance and oversight in the area.
Johannesburg's MMC for Human Settlements, Mlungisi Mabaso described the measures being taken to address this issue.
Mabaso advised Johannesburg city residents to comply with city bylaws and not turn to unlawful measures to secure housing.
