EAST LONDON - It's been a bleak start to the New Year for thousands of East London residents, with large parts of the city plunged into darkness by ongoing cable theft.
Areas including Amalinda and Haven Hills have been hardest hit, as criminals strip critical electricity infrastructure, triggering widespread power outages across the metro.
While Buffalo City officials say recent arrests mark progress, frustrated residents say relief has been slow and morale remains low.
