Education inequality | R3.8bn for ‘missing’ middle students

JOHANNESBURG - As the 2024 academic year begins, all eyes are on tertiary education institutions.

Will we see fewer funding issues after government pledged almost R4-billion to fund the missing middle.

It will support students who come from households with a total income between R350,000 and R600,000.

The Ikusasa Student Financial Aid Programme is advocating for more funding for missing middle students especially those with scarce skills.
