POLOKWANE - The Constitutional Court has handed down a landmark ruling.
Fathers are now entitled to the same parental leave as mothers.

The court found that South Africa's parental leave laws are unconstitutional, unfairly assuming that women should be the primary caregivers.
Parents can split the four months of leave between them, allowing families to share caregiving responsibilities equally.
Dr Dennis Matotoka, CEO at the Commission for Gender Equality says fathers need to prove that they have discharged parental responsibilities to exhaust parental leave.
