Fire season | Scores of animals fall victim to the flames

CAPE TOWN - Wildfires in the Western Cape have killed scores of snakes, lizards and tortoises.

The fire spread quickly into Table Mountain National Park and swept across thousands of hectares in the south peninsula since Tuesday.

Cape Town's Safety and Security MMC, JP Smith says the fires have largely been contained.
