JOHANNESBURG - Police in Gauteng have reported an increase in contact crimes such as assault and gender-based violence.
This comes as schools and most businesses close for the festive season.
The province's acting Commissioner, Tommy Mthombeni says that an intergovernmental approach is needed to deal with such crimes.
