HPCSA says Fort Hare needs to strengthen curriculum

CAPE TOWN - The Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) has slammed the University of Fort Hare for the debacle involving Speech Therapy students who can't graduate.

The HPSCA says the University has failed to equip students with the requirements to qualify as professional speech and language therapists.

The University of Fort Hare has laid the blame at the door of the council.

It claims its curriculum is up to standard.

Students who have been studying for the last four years and were meant to graduate last year have had their dreams dashed.

They have also been told they can't register for community service to seek job placements in their chosen profession.
