Israel-Palestine Conflict | Tensions grow between Israel and US after abstention

JOHANNESBURG - The UN Security Council has finally adopted a resolution for a ceasefire in Gaza.

It will be in force until the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan. The resolution also calls for the release of all hostages and expansion of aid into the strip.

Fourteen member states voted for the resolution with the United States abstaining. This is placing tension of the usually close relationship with Israel dropping a trip to Washington, D.C.
