Land reform in SA | Government settles over 80,000 land claims

JOHANNESBURG - The dispossession of land from millions of South Africans under apartheid broke many families.

They were set back financially, but also psychologically.

The Land Reform Department has settled over 80,000 land claims.

An additional R22.5-billion has been paid out in financial compensation.

A new study has found that restitution has mental health benefits, with a 15 percent drop in depression risks.

UCT's Malcolm Keswell who lead the research joins us.
