EASTERN CAPE - From salacious messages to explicit images — and even a peeled banana emoji- the Judicial Conduct Tribunal into Eastern Cape Judge President Selby Mbenenge turned steamy once again.
In an unprecedented move, Mbenenge led much of his own evidence, insisting that the sexual harassment claims by junior court secretary Andiswa Mengo are fabricated and part of a campaign to shame him.
Mengo alleges Mbenenge sent her unwelcome messages between 2021 and 2022 — but he maintains it was merely flirting in pursuit of a romantic relationship.
