National happiness levels increase off back of Bok, Proteas wins

JOHANNESBURG - The World Happiness Report places South Africa 95th out of 147 countries.

Its survey looks at social support, freedom and lack of corruption.

But happiness is not just the measure of those, with emotions playing a big role.

Last weekend, the country was devastated by losses in rugby, cricket and at the UFC.

But this week, our spirits are lifted with victories for the Bokke men and women and the Proteas down under.

We discuss this emotional rollercoaster with Professor Talita Greyling, the Director of the Centre for Wellbeing AI and Social Impact at the School of Economics at the University of Johannesburg.
