Operation Shanela | Crime-fighting operation sees over 600 000 arrests

PRETORIA - Over 600-thousand people were arrested for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. 

Police Minister Bheki Cele says this is all thanks to Operation Shanela. The police have been swooping in areas identified as hot spots, conducting search operations.

The operation was launched a year ago, and has yielded some results.
