HERMANUS - Strong winds continue to fuel the Pearly Beach fire, which has now jumped the R43 near Gansbaai, prompting renewed road closures and warnings for residents to prepare for a possible evacuation.
Dean O’Neal, Municipal Manager at Overstrand Municipality, said teams are on site, with 120 firefighters at Pearly Beach.
He said the wind is strong and it's fuelling the out-of-control fire.
