CAPE TOWN - The National Coloured Congress (NCC) said Fadiel Adams' arrest violated his Constitutional rights.
It said the PKTT had no authority to enter the Parliamentary precinct.
Adams is facing charges of fraud and defeating the ends of justice in relation to the murder investigation of former ANC Youth League Secretary General Sindiso Magaqa.
Sakiena Frenchman, NCC secretary general, said the PKTT had no right to enter the precinct.
"The powers, privileges, and immunities of Parliament and provincial legislatures, Act No. 4 of 2004, and the Parliamentary Villages Management Board Act 96 of 1998 state the following.
"Members of the security services may only enter the precincts of Parliament, which includes the residential villages, with the permission and under the authority of the speaker or chairperson.
"We will be requesting from the speaker of Parliament as to whether the PKTT applied for permission to enter Parliament grounds, which was allowed by Colonel Mashele. Whilst Honorable Adams' human rights and Constitutional rights have been violated, there has been definite silence from the majority of parliamentarians, which is concerning and disappointing to say the least," she said.
