Private security industry boom in SA

JOHANNESBURG - Private security is booming in South Africa.

The industry has experienced an almost 86% increase in registered firms since 2014.

It's grown to an estimated worth of R50 billion.

Despite this, violent crime in South Africa is continuing to climb.

The latest crime statistics show on average, 84 people are murdered every day in the country.

Chief Executive Officer of IRS Forensic Investigations Chad Thomas discussed this with eNCA.
