JOHANNESBURG - Foreign nationals must be given emergency medical services, but are not necessarily entitled to the use of public healthcare facilities.
The Health Portfolio Committee has addressed MPs on the ongoing protests by Operation Dudula.
The group has been barring foreigners from accessing medical facilities.

Health Committee Chair, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo, says the Immigration and Refugees Acts need to be amended for clarity on who should and who should not be receiving health services from the government.
Dhlomo argues that the refugee and immigration laws are too wide and vague.
