Rand manipulation | Cosatu calls for prosecution of those involved

JOHANNESBURG - Cosatu is angry that domestic and foreign banks manipulated the rand's value between 2007 and 2018.

It wants those involved charged and prosecuted.

Standard Chartered Bank admitted to the manipulation and agreed to pay R42.7-million in settlement.

The Competition Commission says around R1-trillion was traded daily during the manipulation.
