Reduced working hours increase productivity - Study

JOHANNESBURG - A group of lucky South African workers will begin their second trial of a four-day workweek in September.

That's after a very successful first run.

92 percent of the 29 participating firms say they want to continue with the new structure.

They say the reduced hours improved workplace productivity, well-being, and talent attraction and retention.

The five-day 40-hour workweek was standardised by Henry Ford in 1926.

4-Day Week Director, Karen Lowe, believes it's time to change.
