Reporter Diaries | Unfinished projects and sewage spills frustrate residents in Mangaung

MATJHABENG - Unfinished infrastructure projects and long-standing sewage problems continue to frustrate residents in Matjhabeng.

Among the sites visited is an abandoned sporting facility, where a swimming pool was meant to be refurbished five years ago. Today, the site is overgrown with bushes, with little sign of progress.

Sewage spills are another major concern, with wastewater flowing through residential streets despite the recent handover of 22 pump stations by the Department of Water and Sanitation.

Residents say they have yet to see an improvement in the situation.
