JOHANNESBURG - South Africa's 15-year battle with unreliable power supply, has opened the door for Independent Power Producers.

One of the successful bidders, Engie says it's plans to bring two solar photo-voltaic power plants on line, are on track.

This will amount to provision of power to around 80-thousand households a year.

To get a better understanding of the timelines for these solar plants we spoke to Engie's managing director for renewables in Asia, the Middle East and Africa, Mohamed Hoosen.
