ConCourt rules that seat allocation in parliament is fair 1

JOHANNESBURG - The Constitutional Court has ruled that the splitting of seats in the National Assembly is in line with the Constitution.

The apex court dismissed an application by the Independent Candidates Association to increase from two hundred to three hundred and fifty, the number of National Assembly seats that independent candidates can contest.

Some parties have welcomed the court's decision.
