JOHANNESBURG - Beauty queen Qhawekazi Mazaleni has been crowned the new Miss South Africa.
The 24-year-old will receive a R1-million cash prize, a luxury apartment, and other sponsorships collectively valued at over R3-million.
For the duration of her reign, Mazaleni plans to use her platform to raise awareness for children with autism.
On the South African Morning Soapbox, we are asking: Do you think beauty pageants are still relevant and add value to society?
eNCA reporter Hloni Mtimkulu is on the streets of Johannesburg, giving people a say on our soapbox.
