SA Morning Soapbox | Are beauty pageants still relevant?

JOHANNESBURG - Beauty queen Qhawekazi Mazaleni has been crowned the new Miss South Africa.

The 24-year-old will receive a R1-million cash prize, a luxury apartment, and other sponsorships collectively valued at over R3-million.

For the duration of her reign, Mazaleni plans to use her platform to raise awareness for children with autism.
