SA Weather Service restores aviation services after cyber attack

JOHANNESBURG - The South African Weather Service is taking a significant step toward recovery after a crippling cyberattack disrupted its operations for the past four weeks.

The attack severely impacted its Information and Communication Technology infrastructure, making it difficult to deliver critical weather and climate services. 

Cybersecurity and ICT experts have managed to restore the SAWS aviation website.

SAWS CEO, Ishaam Abader discussed the impact of the attack and ongoing recovery efforts.
