JOHANNESBURG - It has been five years since self-proclaimed prophet Shepherd Bushiri fled from South Africa to Malawi.
Now a fugitive from justice, he maintains his dramatic escape was justified and claims corrupt law enforcement officers pushed him to flee the country.
Bushiri said leaving South Africa was the best thing he could have done for himself.
He made damning allegations against top police officers and the Hawks and claims they solicited bribes before he escaped South Africa.
