SONA 2024 | Political parties call on less words, more action

CAPE TOWN - With the country grappling with low economic growth, rolling power cuts, rampant crime and poor service delivery, analysts predict that President Cyril Ramaphosa will instead focus on the ANC's successes of the last 30 years.

ANC spokesperson Mahlengi Bengu anticipates service delivery to be at the top of the agenda and expects the president to outline solutions in tonight's address.

Disruptions to Ramaphosa's speech are not expected after new rules and regulations have been put in place to avoid interruptions and points of order during proceedings.

The IFP's Mkhuleko Hlengwa says this will allow lawmakers to focus on interventions needed to improve the lives of South Africans.
