South Africa faces serious water supply challenges

JOHANNESBURG - Access to water and sanitation is recognised as a basic human right by the United Nations. 

However, several parts of Johannesburg have been experiencing dry taps, due to power failures at the Eikenhof water pump station.

Residents across the city were left with little to no water supply after reservoirs and towers ran dry.
