JOHANNESBURG - The No Drop Report released on Tuesday indicates a deterioration in the performance of municipal wastewater treatment systems.

Water leakages and poorly functioning or non-existent water meters are said to be reasons for the increase of 47-percent of the national non-revenue water.
It also revealed that 64-percent of the wastewater treatment works are at high risk of discharging partially treated or untreated water into rivers and the environment.
