Rand Water's battle to meet surging demand is set to impact 14-million people across four provinces.

That's according to a report seen by News24.

Due to infrastructure challenges and increased demand, the utility is being forced to extract more water from the Vaal River than the company's license caters for.

Rand water has also warned that between now and 2027 customers should expect water supply issues.
