WATCH | EMPD responds to their compromised employees

JOHANNESBURG - The Ekhurhuleni Metro Police Department is in the spotlight not for its efforts to deal with crime.

However because of the criminal records of its members.

It has emerged that at least 167 workers within the EMPD have criminal records.

The crimes were contained in a response to questions posed by the DA to the Member of the Mayoral Committee for Community Safety, Letlhogonolo Moseki.

EMPD spokesperson Kelebogile Thepa explains.
